      A wedding took place in Chiltern on Thursday, when Mr. Edward Elligate, sec ond son of Mrs. Elligate of Upper Indigo, was married to Miss Margaret Ann Devitt, eldest daughter of the late Patrick and Mrs. Devitt also of Upper Indigo Creek. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Fr. Smith. Miss J. Elligate (sister of groom) was bridesmaid, and' Mr. W. Devitt (brother of bride) best man. After the
      ceremony the happy couple returned to their new home, where they had to under go the ordeal of the old time cusom of tinkettling.

      The death took place of Mrs Margaret Ann Elligate of 23 Havelock Street, Barnawartha, during the weekend. She was buried at Barnawartha on Tuesday afternoon after prayers in St Augustine?s Church, Wodonga.
      The Federal Standard, Chiltern, Friday, June 15, 1962- OBITUARY - MRS MARGARET ANN ELLIGATE
      The death occurred in the Wodonga Hospital on May 28 of Margaret Ann Elligate at the age of 82 years. She was an old identity of Indigo Creek, Barnawartha South, where she was born, and spent the early part of her married life. Her husband, Edward (“Ned”), also a member of an old Indigo family, predeceased her 45 years ago, leaving her with a family of three small children. For the last 20 years she has resided in Wodonga along with her two daughters, Mary and Nellie, who are well known for their dressmaking. Her only son, William, along with his wife, Neta and two grandsons, Michael and Colin, reside at Cobram. Deceased will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends and relations who knew her wonderful disposition. Her only surviving brothers are William, of Indigo Creek, and John of Thorpdale. Her remains were laid to rest in the Catholic portion of the Barnawartha cemetery.
